The 1993 model Allante received the powerful and smooth 4.6L (280.7 cu in) GM Northstar L37 DOHC V8 engine coupled with a 4T80-E 4 speed automatic transmission. The 1993 Allante was chosen as the 1992 pace car for the 76th Indy 500 driven by Bobby Unser.
Also introduced with the Allante in 93 was road sensing suspension, and active damper management system and revised disc brakes. The Allante included a revised variable-assist power steering rack and deeper front spoiler.
Bodied by Pininfarina, this classic Cadillac is truly a Sports Roadster with a top ungoverned speed of 157 mph. The sheet metal was sculpted in Europe and assembled in the USA. “The Allante Airbridge” included 3 flights per week to transport 56 car bodies per flight from Turin, Italy to Michigan.
It is no surprise that the MSRP in 1993 was $59,975.
